HP Auto Wireless Connect-

  • First and foremost, download the printer driver software of your printer from the official website. 
  • Thereafter, double-click on the downloaded setup file of the hp printer software. Then, follow the on-screen instructions carefully. 
  • After that, the connection option window appears on your screen. Since you are looking to establish a connection for wireless printing, select the “Wireless Connection” option. 
  • Then, click on the “Next” button in order to proceed further. 
  • In the next window that appears, you have to select the “Network(Ethernet/Wireless)” option. You will find this option in the middle of the page. 
  • Subsequently, you must click on the “Yes, send my wireless settings to the printer” option.

WPS(Wi-Fi Protected Setup) Method

WPS has two modes in order to connect devices together over a wireless connection. For that, follow the below-mentioned steps to attain 

* Push Button Method 

  1. First of all, to connect your printer using WPS, you must have a wireless HP Printer that supports WPS Push-button mode. Along with that, a router with a WPS button and a wireless network that uses a WPA password. 
  2. After that, place your printer within range of the Wi-Fi router signal. 
  3. In case, if you have a printer with a touchscreen control panel, follow the below-given steps:
    1. First of all, on the main screen of the printer, you have to tap on the “Wireless” icon.
    2. In the next screen, select the “Settings” option. 
    3. Now, from the Settings screen, tap on the “Wireless Settings” option. 
    4. After this, select “Wi-Fi Protected Setup”, select “Push Button” and then select the “Start” button.
  4. For, printers without a touch-screen panel, press and hold the Wireless button for five seconds until the wireless light flashes. 
  5. Subsequently, you have to press and hold the WPS button on the router for three to five seconds. 
  6. Now, return back to the printer and check the status of the wireless light or bar. 
    • If the light or blue bar stops flashing it indicates that your printer is successfully connected to the network. 
    • Besides this, if the light is still flashing on or turned off, it indicates that your connection is failed. For this, move the printer closer to the router and repeat these steps again. 
  7.   After that, wait until the message “Connected” is displayed on your screen. 

* PIN Method 

  • First of all, on the main screen of the printer, you have to tap on the “Wireless” icon.
  • In the next screen, select the “Settings” option. 
  • Now, from the Settings screen, tap on the “Wireless Settings” option. 
  • In the next window that appears you must select the “PIN” option. 
  • By doing so, you will get the PIN on your printer for 90 seconds. You have to enter the PIN within this time period, to avoid it getting invalid. 

You can also find this PIN on an information sheet that automatically prints through your printer. If you are not able to enter the PIN in the given time period, you have to go through the printer setup process again to generate a new PIN. Make sure that you are entering the correct PIN, otherwise, it won’t be able to connect to your network. 

  • Then, access the configuration utility or the software for the wireless access point or wireless router.
  • Thereafter, enter your Wireless PIN in the required field. 
  • After entering the PIN, touch the “Next” tab in order to proceed further. You will get this Tab at the bottom of the page.

HP Wireless Setup Wizard- 

  • First of all, on your printer screen, navigate to and select “Setup” icon. 
  • In the next window, select the “Network Setup” option. 
  • Then, touch on the “Wireless Settings” option. 
  • In the next screen that appears on your screen, select the “Wireless Setup Wizard” option. 
  • As a result, the printer searches for the available networks within its range. 
  • After searching for all the available networks within the range choose your network name from that. Then, tap on the “Ok” tab.
  • In case, if prompted, enter your network password. Select on the “Ok” tab.
  • As a result, a confirm settings screen will appear. Touch on the “Ok” tab.
  • Consequently, the connection between your printer and wireless network is now successful.  

* USB Setup Of Wireless

  • For USB Setup of Wireless printer, you have to connect a USB cable between the computer and the printer.
  •  As a result, this will enable the settings of a wireless network to communicate with the printer. 
  • Once your connection is successful you will see a Network Setup Window. This window affirms the network connectivity being successful. Then, click on the “Next” tab located at the bottom of the page.
  • In case, if your printer doesn’t automatically connect to the wireless network. Then, you have to select your network from the list displayed on your printer screen. 
  • Thereafter, selecting your network name, click on the “Ok” tab. You will get this tab at the bottom of the page. 
  • As a result, it will display that you are “Connected to the network”. 
  • Next, if prompted then remove the USB cable from your printer and your system as well.
